Printmaking: Lavender 2018
Fresh bundles of lavender are soaked in black ink, then hammered, scraped, smashed, rolled and/or tossed onto large white paper. The prints are then handcolored with oil pastels, ink, and occassionally embellished with gold leaf.
With the exception of one image from a sketchbook, all works are 50 x 70cm on 300gr paper.
The 2015 series was shown at Spud Bencer, the 2017 series at Cedré Blanc.
NOTE: Images here are full-size as well as detailed.

Glass Vessels — Collaboration with Amy West
For Venice Glass Week 2018, master engraver Amy West used my work as inspiration. She had vessels blown especially for each artwork and then engraved freestyle. Her spontaneous interpretations of the figures onto this fragile and ancient medium sets them free with light.
The works are on display at Amy West Design on Murano, Venice.
